Registered Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) in British Columbia are regulated health care professionals dedicated to restoring, maintaining, and enhancing optimal health and pain-free function. We provide therapeutic and relaxation massage treatments tailored to each individual’s needs. RMTs are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for a wide range of soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions. A typical treatment session includes a detailed health history, physical assessment, hands-on therapy, and recommendations for remedial exercises.

RMTs acquire their expertise through extensive education and rigorous clinical training. Their studies encompass a broad range of health sciences, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, kinesiology, remedial exercise, and clinical sciences, providing a thorough understanding of the human body and its functions.

The practical component of the RMT program offers hands-on experience in a variety of treatment areas, including stress reduction, musculoskeletal injuries, repetitive strain and overuse injuries, postural dysfunctions, and conditions affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. This comprehensive training prepares RMTs to effectively assess and treat a wide range of health concerns and pathologies.
